Do you ever go back and reread super old emails? I did that today and hardly recognized the voice I was writing in just three years ago. It was transparent and apologetic, long-winded and featuring way too many ‘haha’s. It’s like reading the diary of someone else. I am embarrassed for my former self, sending emails like that.
This kind of pointed, material hindsight is new for our generation.
Its odd, because I just added my gmail account to the mail program on my mac book and rather than just delete all my old emails i went back and sifted through them. I read some of the emails i sent to people like exgirlfriends and realize how lame I was. It was even worse last month when i found my old myspace and read all those comments. God, even as a fifteen year old, all the ladies wanted to be up on me.
